We created CogSci Labs because we need a neutral place to carry out work in the field of advanced metacognition. The David Bohm Society has a mission to preserve and promote the legacy of work Bohm left us. This is a valid function, and Bohm’s proposals will factor heavily into the work of CogSci labs. But we needed a more general space where any proposal can be questioned, and proposals from many areas can be looked at and combined. There is an implicit bias at the David Bohm Society to prioritize exploring the proposals he made, which is a good thing as his proposals need to be seriously explored. At CogSci labs that implicit bias is reduced or absent as any proposals related to the field can be evaluated and explored.
